Peasants Love Magic version 0.91​


This patch brings major reworks to pretty much all systems of the game.

  • Add pre-built vehicles
    • Simple frames for different vehicles to serve as a starting point
    • Can be created in map editor
    • Synced from server in similar fashion as maps to allow for custom per-server vehicles
  • Building rework
    • Added a separate build mode which can be entered by pressing [B]
    • In build mode you take control of your magic wand, being able to move it with right click.
    • Building while enemies are nearby is not possible
    • Building happens as previously, hold [F] to select buildable objects and vehicles
    • Doors have been simplified to be one buildable instead of hinge and rope
  • Wand rework
    • Wand commanding has been removed
    • You can still press [G] to pick up your wand to cast spells
    • You can get resources by hitting a tree or a rock with your wand or by converting souls to resources via a spell
  • Vehicle improvements
    • Levers have been removed, controlling a vehicle happens from [WASD] while sitting on pedals
    • Autopedaler has been added to soul shop, it can be attached to pedals to have vehicle hover still in air
    • Added vehicle legs as an improvement over wheels
    • Vehicle handling in general has been adjusted to be easier
  • Player movement and combat rework
    • Movement has been mode tighter and neater
    • Added wall running
    • Players can perform flips now
    • Checking for hits has been changed to a traditional shapecast, each weapon has their own hit shape
  • Quickcast spells
    • Along with the normal spells cast from wands each weapon now has their own quickcast spell
    • Players also have one personal quickcast spell which can be swapped at spawn building with loadout
    • Holding two of the same weapon will put both of the weapons spells on cooldown when other one is cast
    • To cast dagger spell player must be holding two daggers
  • Improvements to map editor
    • Added custom data bindings for editor-placed objects (see how different vehicles are placed and saved with the map)
    • Maps have a separate field for specifying sky height to make sky higher than the buildable area
    • Objects are rendered as themselves now instead of white balls
    • Objects have a context menu that opens when you click them where they can be rotated and flipped etc
  • Added customizable bindings to main menu settings tab
  • Added anti-air capabilities for shield generators to help defend against flying vehicles
  • Added cannon as a buildable object
  • Added levitator as a buildable object
    • Place on a flying vehicle to allow for safe passage to ground
    • Vehicle must remain still and oriented upright to keep the levitator active
  • Added player expressions usable from number keys
  • Added chat bubble for player when they send a message
  • Added a parallax background
  • Add a variety of decorations
